President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have been receiving the royal treatment in China as they have made their first official visit there.
The royal treatment has been shown in the form of a very rare dinner that was given at the Forbidden City. This honor has not been bestowed on any other leader since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 68 years ago.
When the First Family arrived in China they were ushered to the Forbidden City to dine with the Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.
This special dinner was shut down from others as the leaders and their wives were welcomed with a performance by the Peking Opera and a dinner following. This is not the treatment former President Barack Obama was privy to even on his farewell tour. In fact, when Obama traveled to Beijing last year for the G-20 Summit, he was ‘snubbed’ by the Chinese.
Ming Wang, a professor of government and politics at George Mason university, had predicted this type of greeting, saying, “Xi is going to treat Trump almost like an emperor,” adding that China “will give Trump an exceptional reception, essentially they’ll try to make Trump happy.”
The photos say it all. The treatment was completely royal and the respect given to President Trump by China’s leader is the respect he deserves from all. Liberals, take note. China’s president has referred to Trump as the strongest leader in decades several times.
